How to Store and Rotate Your Dakimakura Covers
By DakiCustomize Production Team Last updatedCheck the cover before putting it away
Remove the insert and check for damp patches, dirt or a zipper that needs attention. If the cover needs washing, follow its own care instructions before storing it. Keep washing methods separate from storage advice; the cover-care guide is the existing reference for that task.
Let the cover dry fully before you enclose it. Do not put it away while it still feels damp just because the outside looks dry.
Keep the storage space simple
A clean drawer or fabric bag can keep the cover separate from rough accessories and sharp objects. Choose a dry spot away from direct sunlight and heat.
Fold the cover without pulling the fabric tight, and keep the zipper hardware from pressing against the printed surface. Avoid piling heavy items on top. Check the fabric instructions before using compression bags or heat to remove creases; neither is necessary for an ordinary cover swap.
Make a useful collection label
Record the character or design, the listed cover size and the fabric. Keep a separate note of the insert it fits. That prevents a similar-looking 150 cm and 160 cm cover from being confused later.
For a cover without a label, use the flat measuring steps and keep the result with your collection notes. A photo of the whole design can help you recognise the right one without unfolding every cover.
Check it again when you swap
Inspect the seams and zipper before fitting the next insert. If something catches, stop rather than pulling harder. Use the insert-fitting guide to work the cover into position.
If you are adding another design, choose a size that matches your current insert on the custom dakimakura cover page.
