Why Custom Orders Take Time

When you buy a standard t-shirt from a massive online retailer, a robot pulls it off a shelf, and it ships the same day. Custom dakimakura covers do not work that way.

When you click "Order" at DakiCustomize, your product does not exist yet. It is literally just a digital file and a blank roll of raw 2WAY Tricot or Peach Skin fabric. We build every single order from scratch. Here is a transparent look inside our factory to see exactly what happens during those initial 3 to 5 days of production.

Phase 1: Pre-Press & Manual File Inspection (Day 1)

Unlike automated pod-printing services, we do not just blindly send your file to the printer. A human technician manually reviews your uploaded artwork.

• Color Check: We ensure your file is in the correct RGB format. (If it's in CMYK, we may contact you, as RGB is required for vibrant printing).
• Resolution & Scaling: We check if your image meets the minimum 6000x2000px requirement for a 160x50cm cover. If it is slightly off-scale, we will carefully adjust the aspect ratio.
• Bleed Zone Verification: We make sure no critical details (like your character's face or the artist's signature) are pushed into the 2cm outer sewing margin.

Phase 2: Dye-Sublimation Printing (Day 2)

This is where the magic happens. We do not use cheap surface printing that cracks or peels. We use high-heat Dye-Sublimation.

First, your RGB artwork is printed onto a massive roll of specialized transfer paper using industrial sublimation inks. Then, the transfer paper is aligned with the blank fabric and passed through a massive heated roller press. The extreme heat turns the ink into a gas, which permanently bonds with the polyester fibers of the fabric. This process guarantees that the artwork will never fade or wash out.

Phase 3: Precision Tailoring & Zippers (Day 3-4)

Once the printed fabric cools down, it moves to the cutting floor.

• The front and back panels are precisely laser-cut or hand-cut from the roll.
• Our tailors sew the edges together from the inside out to create smooth, durable seams.
• We install a concealed bottom zipper on the short edge of the fabric to ensure the side artwork remains 100% seamless and safe from tearing.

Phase 4: Quality Control & Packaging (Day 5)

Before any cover leaves our facility, it goes through a final QA check. We inspect the zipper functionality, check for any fabric snags, and ensure the printed colors match the digital file. Finally, the cover is folded flat, sealed in a protective waterproof poly-mailer, and handed over to the international logistics carrier.
