How to Display a Dakimakura Cover Without Hanging It by the Fabric

By DakiCustomize Production Team Last updated

Work out where the whole pillow will go

Measure the available surface, including anything beside or above it. A cover that fits a bed may not sit neatly on a narrow chair or shelf.

A supported pillow display lets you see the illustration without suspending the cover from a small patch of fabric. Check the insert guide if you don't already have a compatible insert. A cover on its own is not a filled pillow.

Try the position while you're there to observe it. Make sure it isn't leaning against a heater, blocking a doorway or likely to slide onto the floor.

Don't treat a pillowcase like a paper poster

Pins, tape and ordinary clips are not automatically suitable mounting tools. This guide doesn't recommend a specific wall attachment or claim that a household clip will leave no marks.

If a wall is the only available location, ask a textile-display supplier or the seller about support for the whole cover and whether the proposed method suits its material. Check any hardware's load and mounting instructions separately.

As a precaution, choose a spot away from prolonged direct sun and obvious heat sources. That is a placement suggestion, not a tested claim about this cover's UV resistance or a promise that colors will never change.

Leave room to use and inspect it

You should be able to move the display without dragging the fabric over rough surfaces. Keep sharp decorations or snagging accessories out of its way.

If you change covers, the storage and rotation guide covers what to do with the one coming off display. There's no need to buy another insert for every cover unless that suits your setup.
