After you upload artwork for a custom dakimakura or custom anime merch item, the next step is making sure the file can be used for production. This article explains what we check, what may cause delays, and how to prepare files so your order can move smoothly into production.

Quick answer
After your order and artwork are received, we check the file for obvious production risks such as low resolution, missing access, wrong file format, or important details placed too close to the edge. This check helps catch clear problems before printing, but it is not a full design, retouching, or color-proofing service.
1. Make sure the file can be opened
PNG is preferred, and high-quality JPG is also accepted. Use RGB color mode. If you send a link, make sure download access is enabled and include your order number so the file can be matched to the correct order.
Avoid screenshots, compressed messaging-app images, and private links that require special account access.
2. Check resolution before uploading
For dakimakura printing, 300 DPI at the final print size is recommended. A low-resolution file can still upload successfully, but it may print soft or pixelated.
If you are preparing a body pillow cover, use the dakimakura image resolution guide before sending your file.
3. Keep important artwork away from edges
Faces, text, signatures, and small decorative details should not sit directly on the seam or edge area. Leave extra space around important elements so small shifts during sewing or cutting do not affect the main artwork.
For body pillow layout details, see the dakimakura bleed and safe zone guide.
4. What happens if there is an obvious problem?
If we notice a clear issue before production, we may contact you for a better file or clarification. The most common causes are low-resolution art, inaccessible file links, missing order numbers, or artwork that does not match the selected product size.
5. Production and shipping are separate
Production usually takes 2-4 business days after a usable file is ready. Shipping usually takes 7-10 business days after production is complete. These are separate stages, so the total delivery time includes both production and shipping.
6. Keep expectations realistic
Custom printing is not the same as full illustration editing. We can check for obvious file problems, but customers are responsible for providing printable artwork and making sure they have permission to print it.
Taxes and import duties are included. Non-quality returns are not supported because custom printed items are made for a specific order.
