Only One Dakimakura Image? How to Plan the Other Side
By DakiCustomize Production Team Last updatedDecide what you want to see when you turn it over
Start with the use, not the price of another commission. Do you want the same character on both sides, a different expression or a quieter reverse?
Write down the intended result for each side. “One uploaded file” does not explain whether you want that image repeated, printed on only one side or combined with another background. Your printer should not have to infer it.
The ordering guide covers where to check the available submission options.
Discuss three possible routes
Repeat the finished design. Ask whether the same approved image can be used on both sides and how to state that in the order. Don't submit an incomplete second file to imply the instruction.
Use a different crop or background. This needs enough usable artwork and permission to alter it. A close crop may remove a favorite accessory or exaggerate the face. Check a proposed layout rather than assuming the original will work twice.
Commission a second illustration. This makes sense if you want another pose or outfit. Discuss it with the artist as additional work, including its own delivery and permission terms.
None of these suggestions promises that a particular special arrangement is offered at a fixed price. Confirm availability first.
Don't mirror the image without checking it
A mirror operation reverses text and swaps asymmetric details. A character's badge, hairstyle or clothing may no longer be correct even if the overall pose looks fine.
If you want a mirrored version, ask the artist whether it is suitable and permitted. The commissioning guide can help frame that conversation.
Keep the final side instructions with the chosen files so an older version doesn't get sent by mistake.
